QuickBooks ProAdvisor
QuickBooks ProAdvisor is Intuit’s free program for accounting professionals, offering training, product certifications, software and support.

Accounting professionals join ProAdvisor by signing up for Intuit Accountant Suite. Members earn points, which move them up four tiers. Silver runs from 0 to 499 points and Gold from 500 to 2,399. Platinum runs from 2,400 to 6,999, and Elite starts at 7,000. Intuit says the program’s benefits and tiers can change without notice.
Membership includes QuickBooks Online Advanced and QuickBooks Workforce Elite at no charge. Members also get premium customer care, and discounts for themselves and their eligible clients. Desktop software bundles are optional and cost extra.
Training and certifications sit in the ProAdvisor Academy, which awards badges and continuing professional education (CPE) credits. Each certification a member earns adds points. QuickBooks Online Level 1 adds 100 and Level 2 adds 200. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise adds 100, and QuickBooks Workforce adds 200. QuickBooks Workforce is Intuit’s current name for its payroll product.
A ProAdvisor certification is a product certification from Intuit. It gives no tax credential and no status with the IRS. Anyone paid to prepare federal returns needs a PTIN from the IRS, whatever software they use. CPAs, attorneys and enrolled agents can represent clients before the IRS, and an AFSP record gives narrower rights.
