Valim for business

$495
is the lowest fee for a partnership, S corp or C corp return.
50
states are in scope for every entity type we prepare, from partnerships to C corps.
<1 week
is how soon we file most returns once you have sent the documents they need.

Business tax preparation at Valim starts with the form your entity files.

Trusts, estates and non-profits file their own returns, and we prepare those too.

S corporations

We file Form 1120-S and a K-1 for every shareholder. We check whether an S election would lower your tax before you make it.

C corporations and startups

Form 1120 is a C corporation’s federal company tax return, and we prepare it with the state returns. For startups, we also file Delaware’s annual report and claim the R&D credit.

Sole proprietors

As a sole proprietor, you file no separate business income tax return, so small business tax filing centers on your own Form 1040. We prepare it with Schedule C and, where needed, Schedule SE.

Business tax planning

Tax advisory includes planning your estimated payments, and you can also add that planning to a filing quote. Your CPA answers other planning questions as they come up, such as expanding into a new state.

Bookkeeping as an add-on to filing

Bookkeeping and a clean-up of the year’s books can be added to your filing, priced in your quote. For tax and accounting services together, your bookkeeper can handle the day-to-day accounting while your CPA files from the ledger they close. Bookkeepers who want a tax partner for their own clients can work with us too.

Online business tax filing with Valim starts with a fixed fee.

  1. 01

    Get a locked quote

The fee on your quote holds for 7 days. If your documents show something your answers missed, we re-quote with the same calculator before any work begins.

  2. 02

Share it all in one portal

One portal holds every entity’s documents and messages, so your remote accountant can work with you from any state. Your CPA prepares each federal and state return from what you upload.

  3. 03

    Letters go to our team

Your fee already covers our answers to IRS and state notices about the returns we prepared.

What does tax preparation for a small business or a corporation cost at Valim?

Business return filing

From $495

Business return filing prepares your partnership or corporate return, and you can reach your CPA all year. A trust or estate is quoted once a CPA has read the trust document.

Tax advisory

Priced in your quote

Your CPA works as your personal tax advisor all year. Talk to them before a big decision, such as bringing in a new owner or opening in another state.

Sole proprietors, and one-owner LLCs with no election, pay individual return prices, from $195.

Which rules decide what a business files and pays?

“My old CPA charged twice as much and I had to chase them for weeks. Valim filed my business returns in days.”
E-commerce owner in Denver

Ask a business tax professional how your next return should be filed.

If you are comparing virtual accounting firms and online tax companies, ask whether the fee is fixed before work starts, and who answers IRS notices. At Valim, both are settled upfront: a fixed fee, and notices on returns we prepared handled within it.

Five questions come up before a business hires a tax CPA.

How much does a CPA charge for business taxes?

At Valim, CPA tax preparation fees for a business return start at $495. The fee rises with the larger of revenue and expenses, and with the number of owners and states. A year with a fundraise, or your first year in business, can add to it. The instant quote prices a partnership, S corp or C corp return on the spot, with nothing billed by the hour.

Do I need a bookkeeper, an accountant or a CPA?

You may need both a bookkeeper and a CPA: the bookkeeper records day-to-day transactions, and the CPA does the tax work. Bookkeeping needs no IRS credential. A CPA is an accountant licensed by a state board, who can represent you before the IRS in any matter. An accountant without a CPA license can still prepare federal returns for pay with a PTIN. Unless they are also an enrolled agent, they can represent you before the IRS only in limited cases, if at all.

What’s the 1099-NEC threshold for 2026?

The Form 1099-NEC threshold is $2,000 for payments made in 2026, up from $600 for payments in 2025. A business generally files one for each nonemployee it paid at least $2,000 that year for services. Payments to a sole proprietor count, but most payments to corporations do not, except for legal services. Payments made by card or payment app are reported on Form 1099-K instead. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act also ties the $2,000 to inflation from 2027.

Can AI accounting replace an accountant?

No. At Valim, AI accounting does the data entry, and a CPA makes every judgment call. Our own automation reads your documents and extracts the figures, so nobody types them in. A licensed US CPA at Valim reviews and signs each return before it is filed. None of your data is used to train or fine-tune any AI model.

How do I switch accountants mid-year?

Ask your old accountant for the records you need to meet your federal tax obligations. Circular 230 requires a CPA, enrolled agent or attorney to return them promptly, even in most fee disputes. Your new CPA will want last year’s returns, the depreciation schedules, any carryovers and the books for the year so far. Keep your accounting method through the switch, because a change needs IRS consent first. Once recorded, a Form 2848 naming your new CPA generally revokes earlier powers of attorney for the same matters, but not a Form 8821.
