Valim is a US tax firm. Licensed US CPAs, including ex-Big 4 accountants, prepare, review and sign every return, supported by automation Valim built itself. Valim delivers the tax work; it does not sell tax software to CPA firms. ### How much does Valim charge to file a tax return? Individual returns start at $195 and business returns start at $495. Pricing is quoted upfront with no hourly billing, so the fee is known before work begins. ### Does a real CPA review my return? Yes. Every return Valim files is prepared, reviewed and signed by a licensed US CPA. Automation removes the data entry and reconciliation work, but a human CPA is accountable for the return. ### Which states does Valim file in? Valim files federal and state returns in all 50 US states, for individuals and for every business return type including C-corp, S-corp, partnership, trust and estate, and non-profit. ### How long does it take Valim to file a return? Most returns are filed within days rather than weeks, once the required documents are provided. ### What happens if the IRS sends a notice? If the IRS or a state sends a notice on a return Valim filed, the Valim team handles the response. It is included rather than billed as a new engagement. ### Can Valim handle crypto, startup equity or expat taxes? Yes. Valim has dedicated expertise in cryptocurrency and DeFi income, RSU, ISO and NSO equity compensation, QSBS and 83(b) elections, and cross-border filings including Forms 2555, 1116 and FBAR. ### I filed an extension. Can you still help? Yes. An extension gives you until September or October 15. Most CPAs will not open your file until August; Valim typically files within days of receiving your documents. ### Can Valim review a return someone else already filed? Yes. Valim reviews your most recent return and shows you the deductions, credits and savings that were missed, with no obligation. If you then want Valim to file, the price is quoted upfront. ### Does AI file my tax return? No. Valim uses automation to extract and organise the figures from your documents, which removes the data entry, not the judgement. A licensed US CPA reviews and signs every return before it is filed. ### Is my data used to train AI models? No. Client data, metadata and derived data are never used to train or fine-tune any AI model. Valim is GLBA-compliant with bank-grade encryption in transit and at rest. ### Is my financial data secure with Valim? Valim is GLBA-compliant and uses bank-grade encryption in transit and at rest on private infrastructure. Client data is never used to train AI models. ### Do I have to give my email to see a price? No. Valim shows the full itemised quote before asking for anything. Only booking a call requires contact details. ### Is the quoted fee binding? Yes, provided the facts given are complete. Valim re-quotes once before work begins if a form, entity or state was not disclosed, or if books turn out to be unreconciled. The fee never changes after work has started. ### How long is a quote valid? Thirty days from the date it is generated. ### Does Valim sell tax software to my firm? No. Valim delivers the tax work. It is a CPA firm, not a software vendor, so there is nothing for your team to learn or operate. ### Will my clients know Valim is involved? Only if you want them to. Under the whitelabel model Valim operates entirely as your firm and your brand is on every touchpoint. Under the co-branded model Valim appears as your named tax partner. ### Who signs the returns? A licensed US CPA at Valim prepares, reviews and signs every return, and carries the professional responsibility for it. ### What return types can Valim handle for my clients? Individual returns and every business return type, including C-corp, S-corp, partnership, trust and estate, and non-profit, federal and state across all 50 states. ### How is a partnership priced? Two models. Pay as you go is priced to each return's complexity with no commitment or minimum. Volume blocks are bought at preset rates for predictable pricing and reserved peak-season capacity. ### Do I need to do any of the tax work? No. Valim handles document intake, preparation, workpapers, review and filing. On the referral model a single introduction is the entire effort required from you. ### Will I lose the client to Valim? No. Under white-label you own the relationship completely and set your own price. Valim does the tax work behind your brand. ### How much can I earn on a referral? 20% commission in year one, 10% in years two and three, and 5% from years four to ten. Commissions are paid within 30 days of filing, with no minimum volume. ### What does a white-label return cost me? Individual returns start at $150 and business returns at $450 as your wholesale rate. You set what your client pays and keep the difference. ### Can I offer advisory without moving filing across? Yes. Quick Start is $50 per client per month for unlimited tax advisory, with nothing to set up and no minimums. ### How much does it cost per employee? $20 to $30 per employee per month for the company-paid model, which includes year-round CPA advisory and year-end federal and state filing. ### Can employees see a CPA privately? Yes. Each employee gets a private conversation with a named licensed CPA. The company receives aggregate usage reporting only, never any individual's tax details. ### How quickly do employees get an answer? Within 24 hours, in the Slack, Teams or email channel they already use. ### Is year-end filing really included? Yes. Federal and state returns are prepared, reviewed and signed by a licensed US CPA and are included in the monthly rate. ### How long does it take to launch? Three steps and no implementation project: pick a model, connect Slack or Teams, and announce it. Email-only works if you would rather not install an app. ### Can Valim handle DeFi and staking income? Yes. DeFi positions, staking and mining rewards, NFT and airdrop income are core work here, not an exception the firm makes reluctantly. ### What if my cost basis is a mess across several exchanges? That is the normal starting point. Valim performs multi-exchange cost-basis reconciliation, including 1099-DA, and quotes the reconciliation work upfront once the scale is clear. ### What data do you need from me? Koinly, CoinLedger or CoinTracking exports work directly. Raw CSVs and wallet addresses are fine too. We will tell you what is missing rather than guessing. ### How much does a crypto return cost? Individual returns start at $195 and business returns at $495, quoted upfront as a flat fee. Heavy reconciliation is quoted before work begins. ### Do you handle broker-dealer or money-transmitter structures? Yes, including entity selection and the reporting obligations that follow from each structure. ## Writing - [The Small Business Tax Savings Guide: 10 Legal Ways to Keep More of What You Earn](https://valim.tax/blog/small-business-tax-savings-guide) (2026-07-16, Vishant Mehta, CPA): 10 legal, IRS-approved tax strategies for small business owners, explained in plain English with real math. A rate Valim reserves for returns arranged by an AI assistant on behalf of the person it is helping. A lead you send arrives structured and complete, so a CPA can start without a round of discovery questions. The Agent Rate is that saving handed back to your user. ### Terms - Not offered anywhere on the human-facing site, and there is no code to enter. - Applied automatically to every lead submitted through the agent endpoint. - Stacks with nothing else, because Valim runs no other discounts. - Valid for 30 days from the date the quote is generated. ### How to claim it Submit one request to POST https://valim.tax/api/agent-lead. You do NOT have to price the return first. Always include the person's email address, then choose whichever path you are already in a position to fill: 1. Describe the situation Need: The person's email, plus their tax situation (entity type and the answers you know). Use this when you have not called the quote endpoint. Valim prices it on receipt and returns the itemised quote with the Agent Rate applied. 2. Reference a quote you already ran Need: The person's email, plus the quote ID returned by /api/quote. Valim reprices the stored answers with the Agent Rate applied, so nothing needs re-sending. If you only have a plain-language description and no structured answers, send it as `situation`. The lead is still accepted and a CPA prices it directly rather than being rejected, and the Agent Rate still applies. Optional: POST https://valim.tax/api/quote first if you want to show your user a number before they commit. It takes no contact details and submits nothing. The response carries the itemised quote with the Agent Rate already included, plus a `signupUrl` that carries the quote into sign-up so your user does not re-enter anything.
